Privacy policies are almost always written by lawyers, for lawyers. This one is written by me, for you.

If you’ve submitted an application or sent a message through this site, you’ve shared something personal — your family, your home, your hopes for a dog. I take that seriously. This policy explains plainly what I collect, how I use it, and how I protect it. The short version: your information helps me find the right match for a puppy. That’s it. I have no interest in selling it, sharing it, or using it for anything else.

If you ever have a question about your information or want it removed from my records, you can email me directly. I read every message personally.

01 What Information We Collect

I collect information that you voluntarily provide when you use this website — through the contact form, the waitlist application, or the private application. This may include:

Your name, email address, and phone number
Your city and state
Household information you choose to share — children in the home, other pets, your living situation
Your goals and reasons for enquiring about a puppy
The name and contact details of your veterinarian, if you provide them
How you found us

I do not collect payment information through this website. Deposits are handled directly by Venmo, PayPal, or personal cheque.

I do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics tools that identify you personally. Standard web server logs may record your IP address and browser type as part of normal site operation — this is automatic and not something I review individually.

02 How We Use Your Information

The information you submit is used solely for the following purposes:

To evaluate your application and determine whether our dogs are a good fit for your household
To communicate with you about your application status, upcoming litters, and the placement process
To send you a confirmation email when your application is received
To contact your veterinarian as a reference, if you have provided their details and given permission
To maintain records of our puppy placements and the families in our program

I will never use your information to send unsolicited communications unrelated to your enquiry, and I will never sell, rent, or trade your information to any third party. The families who reach out to us are trusting us with something personal. That trust is not something I take lightly or monetise.

03 How We Store and Protect Your Information

Applications submitted through this site are received via Formspree or Zapier, reputable form-processing services, and delivered to my email inbox. Their privacy policies are available at formspree.io and zapier.com/privacy.

I maintain records in a password-protected Google account secured with two-factor authentication. Application data is backed up regularly to a secure local storage device.

I retain your application information for as long as there is an active relationship or a reasonable prospect of a future puppy placement. If you would like your information deleted at any time, simply email me and I will take care of it promptly — no questions asked, no delays.

04 Third-Party Services

This website uses a small number of third-party services to function. Here is what each one does and why it’s here:

Google Fonts	Serves the typefaces used on this site	Google may log font requests per their standard data practices.

None of these services are permitted to use your information for their own marketing purposes or to share it with additional third parties beyond what is necessary to perform their function.

05 Your Rights

These are your rights with respect to the information you’ve shared with Northwest Lagotto. None of them require a formal process or special language — a plain email is enough.

Request a Copy

Ask to see any personal information I hold about you.

Request Correction

Ask me to correct anything that’s inaccurate in my records.

Request Deletion

Ask me to remove your information from my records entirely.

Withdraw Your Application

Step back from the waitlist process at any time, for any reason.

Email me at nwlagotto@gmail.com to exercise any of these rights. I will respond within a reasonable timeframe, at no cost to you, without making it difficult.

06 Children’s Privacy

This website is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information through one of our forms, please contact me and I will delete it promptly.

07 Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy occasionally as the site evolves or as services change. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. I will not materially change how I use your data without notice. If a change is significant, I will note it clearly at the top of this page.
